N Holland (Dutch: Noord-Holland) is a province of the Netherlands, located in the north-west a portion of the united states. Its capital is Haarlem. More cities include a united states's capital Amsterdam, Hilversum, Alkmaar and Zaandam.
Geography
Northerly Holland forms a peninsula between the North Sea and the IJsselmeer. To a higher degree half of the province consists of rescued land in the form of polders and is in the image below sea level. A island of Texel is also a share of Northerly Holland.

History
A province Northward Holland was formed around 1840, when a province Holland was split in to the northern & southern section (South Holland). Within 1940, the islands Vlieland and Terschelling were ceded to the province Friesland. Inside 1950, the previous island Urk was ceded to the province Overijssel.
